PANACHE is a lovely dark bay gelding, foaled April 22, 2003.
He is registered and branded Old/ISR. You won’t find a sweeter or easier
yearling.
His sire, RAINBOW, is a very interesting and undervalued stallion
in the U.S. Rainbow’s sire was RINALDO, who sired a number of dressage winners,
including a dressage derby winner in 1987, as well as Grand Prix jumpers. He is
also the grandsire (dam’s line) of CORLANDO. Rinaldo was by RAMIRO, out
of Priska by PERSER. Ramiro has often been called the “Stallion of the Century”
and has an incredible production record. Perser was a full-brother to PIK AS,
and dam sire of WALLDORF.
Rainbow is German-approved, and received his ELITE status before
being imported to the U.S. He was 100-day tested in Europe at the Merigen Testing
Station (under Burkhard Wahler), receiving an incredible 121.74 score and Star
Award status. He received a KLASS I license in Germany, and is approved for eight
German breeding verbands. While showing in Europe, he qualified for the German
Federal Championships and won extensively in the Suitabilities (4’-4’3”)
– as well as competing in the rigorous M levels in dressage.
Panache’s dam is the TB mare, Diamond’s Optional.
She is approved by the Rheinland-Pfalz-Saar as a PREMIUM mare, receiving 8’s
for conformation and overall impression and development, and was the 8th highest-scoring
mare in the nation during the 1999 approval tour. Her sire, ALL THE OPTIONS (TB)
is also approved RPSI, and was the SECOND-highest scoring stallion on the 1999
tour, receiving a coveted “9” in the true stallion category, “Overall
Impression and Development”.
Panache is a full brother to several hunter breeding winners,
including stallion candidate REIGN (PHA Two-Year-Old Champion, and undefeated
on the line as a two-year-old in Florida), REIGN OR SHINE, and RAINDANCE.
Panache showed on the line as
a yearling and two and three-year old. He won the Two-Year-Old Hunter Breeding
class at the American Royal, and was Best Young Horse as a three-year-old in
Lake St. Louis. In 2006 Panache sustained an injury that required surgery and
has completely recuperated, going on to win Baby
Green Hunter Champion at Lake St. Louis in April 2008.
