South Point
Farms
began in the late 1990's as a small breeder of select sport
horses, and we remain small and select even now. Today, however,
South Point Farms can boast of breeding and showing some of the
top young and made horses in the nation and having the foundations
of a successful race breeding program.
From Goldfish, the top Hanoverian in the Hunter Breeding division
in the nation in 2002 and 2003, to C'czar, winner of the 2007
Sallie B. Wheeler West Coast Hunter Breeding Championship, to
Renaissance, winner of the Gulf Coast Classic $10,000 USHJA AGA/Software
Solutions International Hunter Derby, and leading the country in
the Regular Working Hunters in April, 2008, South Point knows what
it takes to make it to the top of the highly competitive show
horse world.

All our young horses are handled daily until they are sold. Young
show foals will attend a breed inspection and older youngsters are
shown on the line as yearlings and two-year-olds. They become
accustomed to the hustle and bustle of a busy show and training
barn and the routine of a horse show day. Young race prospects
split their lives between large grass pastures, and stall time for
handling and early training.
We select show producing broodmares for their conformation,
movement, temperament…and their production or show records. We
breed to the top producing stallions in the country. We hand
raise our babies. Our Jockey Club mares are selected for their
pedigree and correctness…which they pass on to their foals.
Stallions contribute speed, stamina and a successful racing
career.
